Raised in a Filipino, family oriented setting really exposed me to a lot of love. With that you get everything connected to the emotion of love. As you grow older, you tend to carry over a lot of those characteristics with you.

I think being human gets looked at too often as a negative thing. When we fail, become stressed, are under too much pressure, and or breakdown, we say something along the lines like “its okay, you’re only human” but the beauty in it, is that we hit these roadblocks from pushing our boundaries.

NSB&W is the idea that life is never black and white, its hardly even shades of grey, but a full spectrum of colors. We all live a different life, yet go through similar experiences, like different shades of the same color.

People live for their gods, for their kin, for art, for other people — for an endless amount of reasons that could be unique to each person. To me, the phrase “humans doing earthly things” depicts this struggle to find meaning in an intrinsically meaningless existence by simply… existing.

I think one of the biggest things people tend to forget about musicians, actors, and other artists is that… at the root of all their work, art, and experiences, these creatives at the end of the day are just ordinary people — humans doing earthly things.
